How useful is a CV if I can’t explain what I do in plain language? Here’s mine – short, clear, and worth reading.

Portfolio Example
The same website design or online system doesn’t last forever, especially in this post-Covid era. Moreover, dumping all shareable projects here doesn’t give a good idea about my skills. So here are a few recent work examples that might give you goosebumps!

Development
I build software that prioritises reliability, clarity, and scalability. My toolkit includes Go, Python, PHP, SQL, and JavaScript; each chosen for specific strengths rather than trends. Over the years, I’ve developed Go and Python microservices that integrate seamlessly with custom PHP frameworks through REST APIs, forming decentralised systems designed from the ground up.
I’ve engineered systems that handle real-time encrypted data flow via WebSocket protocols and applied semantic embedding for intelligent search. One of my recent projects includes a proprietary 3-axis search engine combining geometric filtering, cosine similarity, and spatial indexing within a 512-dimensional vector structure.
Performance matters to me because efficiency reflects respect for both users and infrastructure. To give perspective, a dataset of 1.7 million records on a $5 DigitalOcean VPS executes three complex regex-driven queries, during stress testing of 1 million similar requests, involving layered conditions and geometry – all in under 700 milliseconds.

UX/UI Design
My first paid design and web project was in 2014, back when UpWork was still called oDesk. Before that, I spent my high school summers building websites for local businesses. I started with Drupal, experimented with Joomla, and eventually found a long-term rhythm with WordPress.
Through experience, I’ve learned that good design is not about decoration but communication. It should guide attention, simplify choices, and feel natural to interact with. My process focuses on clarity, flow, and brand consistency. I keep colour tones limited to a few complementary variations and prioritise interfaces that look professional without feeling forced.
I can’t include every project here, but these samples reflect how I approach design: fast-loading, cohesive, and easy to navigate. Each one aims to leave a positive impression without ever overwhelming the viewer.

Cloud & Servers
My server journey began with cPanel and WHM, back when shared hosting was the default choice. In 2016, I shifted to VPS hosting and started exploring more efficient control panels. I tested options like Ajenti, Sentora, Vesta, ZPanel, and Virtualmin before eventually settling on Webmin. By 2019, I was comfortable enough with the command line that I no longer needed a control panel at all.
I’ve been using Cloudflare since 2014, back when SSL certificates were still treated as premium features. While others charged clients for them, I made SSL a default offering long before it became the industry norm. That small shift taught me how much trust can grow from simple, reliable improvements.
Today, I design and maintain high-performance infrastructure that stays lean, fast, and secure under heavy traffic. From load balancing to reverse proxies using Varnish, Redis, OPCache, and Brotli, I focus on setups that scale smoothly without unnecessary complexity. I also work with serverless infrastructure when it makes sense – sometimes using nothing more than a free Gmail account, Google Drive, and Google Apps Script to create fully functional data pipelines that parse, process, and store information directly from incoming emails.
On the right (or below on mobile), you’ll see a simple flowchart that visualises how this site (asifur.com) is hosted. It represents the same philosophy I apply to all infrastructure: lightweight, resilient, and transparent in how it works.

Graphics
I first picked up a camera in 7th grade using my mom’s camcorder. It could barely take clear stills, but curiosity mattered more than equipment. By 2010, I was experimenting with photo editing and even modding GTA San Andreas, creating custom missions and swapping models just to see how far I could push it. That same curiosity grew into a genuine passion for design, and by 2014, I began taking on professional graphic work.
At first, I focused on basic photo cleanup and object removal, then gradually moved into retouching, manipulation, and compositing. Around 2015, I shifted toward video and produced my first short film — a milestone that reminded me how powerful visual storytelling can be when done with intent.
In 2018, I co-founded Wizpi360, an automotive photography company where I built automated editing workflows and systems that improved both speed and consistency for the team.
Since then, I’ve directed interviews at TIFF, produced visuals for non-profits like LebMASH, and covered everything from weddings to local events. I approach each project with the same mindset: keep learning, stay adaptable, and make visuals that connect with people rather than just impress them.

Marketing
I began working in digital marketing in 2015 with Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and SEO. Over time, I started blending technical problem-solving with marketing strategy, using automation to make campaigns more consistent and measurable. In 2019, I developed a system that generated over 200,000 localised pages with unique content. Within a month, those pages reached first place on Google search results for several competitive regions.
Along the way, I’ve studied marketing and sales psychology to understand not only what works, but why people make decisions. I see marketing as more than conversion metrics; it’s about building trust, familiarity, and lasting relationships. My focus is always on creating measurable growth while keeping communication transparent.
Every marketing project I’ve managed has delivered positive ROI. I’ve never lost a recurring client due to performance issues – a record I attribute to setting honest expectations and backing them with consistent results.

Business
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset. Back in high school, instead of taking a typical summer job, I built websites for local vendors. That early decision set the tone for how I approach business today – with curiosity, independence, and a focus on solving real problems.
Over the years, I’ve founded and contributed to multiple ventures that have grown into long-term, self-sustaining operations. Each one taught me something different about leadership, markets, and timing. I’ve read the theory and tested it in practice enough to know that no single formula works for every business. The key is building systems that adapt and scale while keeping people and process aligned.
I specialise in analysing and planning IT-focused businesses, integrating technology with realistic business models, and structuring workflows that keep operations efficient. My work often involves assembling teams, defining infrastructure, and setting up automation that helps small companies operate with the precision of larger ones.
Whether it’s product strategy for a startup or streamlining processes for an existing agency, I approach each project with one goal in mind: make the system work smarter, not just harder.

Experience
I grew up in an environment where computers were seen as expensive distractions. At one point, even my parents thought I was wasting my future by spending so much time on them. That mindset didn’t last long – and neither did any doubts about what I was capable of achieving.
But how am I as a person?
